Down on the Trent again for an overnighter from Tues-Weds,complete and utter blank not even a bleedin Bream.
Did manage a p.b. swan though as one flew straight into my line, eventually afte 5 or 6 anglers getting all enviromental with landing nets and calls to the RSPCA the daft beast untangled itself and then came back to gloat and try to stare me out.
A ver posh old bint took exception to the placement of my bivvy as it disturbed her direct line trajectory on her morning constitutional, she had to walk round it,poor old deluded biddy.Despite immense provocation I managed to supress my socialist instincts and sailor boys vocabulary and took my temper out by casting a four ounce feeder almost into the trees on the far bank.
Hey ho,beats working.

Salad days
Went down for the day again on Monday(2/11)and found a completely different river from last week,it was about 3 feet up and rising, coloured and with a good flow.Couldn't wait to get the rods out.Within an hour I must have had 6lb of weed on the bank, unbelievable amounts of salad.
Stuck at it though and ended up with 6 barbel best being 7 1/2 lb.Absolutely certain I would have had a lot more if the fish could have found the bait
When I packed up there was so much weed on the bank it looked like the tide had gone out at Southend!
